Brush Up on Required Skills
The CNA skills exam is the hands-on portion of the certification test. - Random selection: You’ll be asked to perform 4–5 of the above skills on a mannequin or volunteer.
- Scoring: Each skill has critical steps (safety, infection control, communication) you must perform correctly to pass. Missing a critical step usually means failing that skill.

Why Take a CNA Practice Test Before Your Exam?
The CNA exam tests both your knowledge and your ability to think quickly under pressure. Without practice, even well-prepared students can struggle with pacing or miss questions due to nerves. Taking a CNA practice test helps you:
- Learn the exam format — multiple-choice questions, timed sections, and the balance of topics.
- Spot knowledge gaps — identify which areas need more study before test day.
- Build confidence — reduce test anxiety by simulating the real exam environment.
At CNATestPractice.com, you can choose between full-length tests to practice overall readiness, or topic-by-topic quizzes to strengthen specific skills.

What’s on the CNA Written Exam?
The written portion of the CNA exam covers a broad range of knowledge areas essential to safe and effective patient care. Typical content domains include:
- Basic Nursing Skills – vital signs, hygiene, positioning, safety.
- Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) – feeding, bathing, toileting, mobility assistance.
- Infection Control – handwashing, PPE, preventing cross-contamination.
- Communication Skills – working with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Legal & Ethical Behavior – confidentiality, professional boundaries.
- Restorative Skills – helping patients regain independence.
- Client Rights – respecting privacy, dignity, and autonomy.
- Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual Needs – cultural awareness, mental health support.
Our practice questions are modeled after these categories, so your prep aligns exactly with what you’ll face on exam day.

CNA Clinical Skills Test Overview
The CNA certification exam also includes a skills evaluation, where you’ll demonstrate hands-on abilities in front of an evaluator. You may be asked to take blood pressure, transfer a patient, or provide mouth care, among other essential tasks.
While our practice tests focus on the written portion, strengthening your knowledge through our quizzes makes the clinical part easier, because you’ll better understand the reasoning behind each procedure.
